Why doesn’t pink saturate well in geodes?

Pink and red molecules are larger than other dye colors, so they have a harder time reaching the tight folds of tied fabric. 

Even with added effort, they tend to stay on the surface or miss areas under the sinew. That’s why I often pair pink with black or orange to help supplement the saturation.
